   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters It will help your releve most of your symptoms such as fullness in your head, runny or stuffed nose, cough ect. as you probably only have a viral flu so there is no cure. he was right.

   It might help with the symptoms, help you feel better. If it doesn't, don't take it. It won't help you get over the flu faster.Allergy pills are ONLY for symptoms, they are not antibiotics or antivirals or anything like that (and an antibiotic wouldn't help with the flu, since it's a virus).

   Zyrtec is an antihistamine. It is designed for allergies, yes, but Demazin is also an antihistamine, and it's for colds and flus. Antihistamines can be used to treat the symptoms of a cold.

   It is not used for a flu, so that's really odd he would prescribe that for you. It's prescribed for allergies though.
